I find myself extremely lost without Miss Emma running around. If you didn’t know, she is in Mississippi, or “sippi” as she says, visiting all her grandparents. Yes, I’m jealous. I really, really wanted to go with her. But, I couldn’t, prior engagements. So, I have a whole week without her, and no clue what to do with myself. Channing summed it up very well the other day after we dropped her off with my mom. The conversation went something like this:

Me: “So, what should we do this week?”

Channing: “What do you want to do?”

Me: “I don’t know, I mean, we have a whole anniversary week to ourselves, I think we should take advantage of it.”

Channing: “Well, what do young married people do?”

Me: “I have no idea….  We need friends…..”

So what did we do when we got home? We finished Season 2 of 24. Exciting, huh?

This begins a new discussion. For Channing’s birthday, his mom sent us all of the seasons of 24 on DVD. The whole famiy has been trying to get us to watch it for over a year now. We’ve done really well to avoid it, because anyone who has seen it only raves about it, and then tells you how ridiculously addictive the show is. None of them were exaggerating. It has become a nightmarish obsession. We watch about two a night, as soon as we get Emma down. It takes forever too, because there really are 24 episodes in each season. I find myself with constant headaches because I hold my breath through every episode, as if my suffocation will get Jack through the hour. It’s exhausting.  However, this really is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I’m sure I’m not telling you anything new. We’re apparently the last two people in the world to get hooked.  So, we finished Season 2 Saturday night, and agreed that we were gonna take a break before we started Season 3. We made it one day. We watched two episodes of 3 last night. I think this one is gonna be my favorite. I know, this is sad. We’re a young married couple, and we spend our child free time with Jack Bauer. I tell you, we can not help it!  If you are one of the few still holding out on 24, keep it that way. You’re life will never be the same.

In other news, our third anniversary is on Wednesday. Does that seem weird to anyone else? Has it really been 3 years? Where did they go? Can I slow down the next 3 please?

And to finish…. I’m having company this weekend! My Daddy is bringing my girl back to me, and he may have some help, but that detail isn’t for sure yet. I’m really excited! It’s going to be nice to have people with the same accent around me. Oh yeah, and it’s family! Ha!
